How can I buy a domain that's taken but has no content?

I want to use the domain www.u-stu.com for my personal portfolio of art and crafts and things like that but all domain registration sites say it's taken but there is no content on the site. About 6-8 months ago I tried the site and it had Korean or Chinese or something like that and I was able to find an e-mail address somehow (can't remember). The site was still VERY plain but now even that is gone and I can't find out how to get this domain. How can I find out when it will expire? How can I get this domain? I would pay up to $20 for it.

Most name are taken to be sold to later day for profit. If you are desperate, you can email that guy who have registered to buy it from him (But it will cost you more than $20 for sure).

Next best thing you can do is to buy www.u-stu.org or www.u-stu.net or www.u-stu.us or some other changes in name for your use.

People can register domains for up to 10 years, and not have a website on them.

You can find information on a domain by doing what is called a 'whois lookup'

I use http://www.whois.sc

A lookup on the domain says it will expire on 2007-11-09, however the owner may renew it.

You can buy a domain from various websites, a quick search will find thousands and most will only cost < $10

Go to this web site and click on the first tab. It has a point for web site transfer.
