How soon after a domain expires can I register the domain name?

Just wondering if anyone has any expertise on this. Domain expiration listed as 8/2 on swhois.net and I am trying to register it. Thanks in advance!

Most registrars allow a grace period after a domain name expires for the registrant to renew it. That grace period can be as short as one to two weeks or as long as one year in some cases. If the current registrant does not renew it within the allotted time frame, then that domain name should become available. The actual grace period is different for each individual registrar. Once the registrar releases the domain name, you will be able to register it through http://www.domain-name-register-store.com/.

In many cases, soon-to-be-expired domains will be put up for auction. If the current registrant fails to renew the registration within the allotted grace and subsequent redemption periods, you can attempt to obtain the domain by placing a bid for it.

Hope you get what you want!

I believe there is a 60 day waiting period, It may only be 30. The current domain holder has a period of time where they can repurchase it, at a much higher fee.

You can immediately put in the request with most services, but may have to wait for acceptance. Some require a deposit while others will bill as soon as granted. If cannot assign and prepaid, the money is normally refunded. Use GoDaddy to do the registration. They have always been straight with me.

You need to fimiliarise your self with the domain lifecycle bro.

once expired it goes into a 45 day redemption period and then a 5 day Pending delete. Read the domain lifecycles in the links below and you will come to know when your domain will be available to be registered again.
