How to renew my domain in redemption period which expired on 3/26/2008 through networksolutions.com?

today is 5/26/2008. i logged in through networksolutions.com but there's no option to renew. Is it possible to renew or is it too late? I

It is probably too late. First thing to check: look-up the domain on the WhoIs page (every registrar has one.) That will tell you ownership and status of the domain. It's possible someone else has already registered it, in which case, you've lost it.

It's also possible your domain has been made available, in which case, you may simply register it again -- but before you do that, do yourself a huge favor, pick another registrar. I use DomainsMadeEasy.com because they are competitive, and their excellent hosting is worth 5x what they charge for it; GoDaddy.com is cheaper; if you want 5-star customer service, try DirectNIC.com, they are awesome, but a little pricey.

NSI is the worst, and they cost the most. The number of domains registered through NSI dropped by more than 14,000 last month; NSI used to have 100% of all registrations, they now have less than 7% -- and there's a very good reason for all that: it's because they suck rocks!

They have screwed-over both individuals and the Internet-using public as a whole so many times, and in so many different ways, it's positively mind-blowing. My advice to anyone is to drop NSI like a bad habit the very first chance you get!

In any case, if NSI has your domain on hold, you are at their mercy, your sole recourse is with them, and you can expect them to have their way with you -- because that's the way they roll. If that's the case, I'm sorry to say, it sucks to be you.
