If logic prevailed, this would be a built-in function of Windows Active Directory. Heck, the ability to tell all of the computers on the domain to reboot at a certain time would be another. Hey, check this one out: What about running defrag on your systems at a convenient time and in a convenient way? Then you have disk quotas, which was a defacto standard in Novell 3.x days that still doesn't work as well as theirs did in 1995 on todays modern Microsoft O/S.
Great minds don't think like Microsoft... These useful and likely easy to configure tasks just aren't available in your standard Windows repertoire of tools. So, what are you left with? Writing your own scripts or borrowing someone else's...
I've linked a Windows IT Pro script, which I have not tested or even read, that seems to be what you are looking for. If this doesn't work, you can look at the Scripting Guys stuff. They seem to be Microsoft's only knowledgeable folks capable of working around their employers crappy tools - Maybe they're consultants...
