Authorization code for a domain transfer?

I have to been trying to acquire an "authorization code" for transferring my domain to a new registrar. My current registrar provided with a password which my new registrar rejects saying invalid.

My current registrar customer support are pondering about this problem for 3 full days, deadline after deadline and no real progress and hopeless customer service.

If you have had experience of transferring domains, please tell me

1.) Normally how long would it take to find out the "Authorization code" for a domain?

2.) If my current registrar is purposefully delaying the process(i suppose they are, because my domains expires in about 2 weeks from now), what actions can I take to make sure i get the code in time.

3.) Whether there is any legal enforcement which could be taken against these people for purposefully delay or employing unskilled personnels.(My current registrar is an Indian Company).

It usually takes a week or so for everything to get sorted, then you can transfer. Not sure how long you've been waiting though.

Yes, you can try legal action... but for a few bucks, why spend a few hundred hiring an attorney?

Try going to www.namepros.com , biggest domain forum. If you don't get this resolved.

Good Luck :)
