I've found a domain I want to buy. its just about to expire. how do I grab it quickly and securely?

Go to GoDaddy and use the Backorder feature. It has 50-50 chance that you will get it. That feature costs a little but wil try to register the domain for you automatically when it becomes available. The domain name maybe expire like in 1 may but it is still locked status for some time so the last owner can renew it if he forgot to do it. But BACKORDERING is the answer. Use that feature in GoDaddy and it will help you.

I always use Network Solutions to buy my domains, I would check there, or even do a WhoIs search to see where it was purchased through before. The whole purchase process takes about 5 minutes, granted it is actually available.
