What expiring domain names do people register?

I want a domain name that's expiring in the next few days but I don't want to pay ridiculous backorder fees. The domain was free until a little more than a year ago and a student from China used it as a portfolio for about 6 months and then it was left empty until it expired. Now that the old owner doesn't seem like a threat what kind of domains do people mass register just to resell? The one I want has no nouns in it and has a hyphen. It also doesn't resemble any known abbreviations so what do you think the chances are it won't get snatched up? Also, about what time on the deleted day are domains released?

If the domain name you are seeking has any value to it then chances are it will get snapped up by someone with one of the backordering services. If the domain has any traffic potential (due to lots of existing back links) or has any name value then certainly someone may pick it up.

People mass register all types of domains. Normally short names, one-word names, etc. will always be picked up quickly because of their value (these can always be resold). Good generic names with one or two words will also usually have value and are highly sough after.

Names usually drop throughout the day with most happening in the afternoons (eastern time).

I have a website where I list new domains each day that can be registered and resold for profit. If your interested just visit my website, http://www.tacodomains.com and click on the Expired Domains link at the top of the page.

Hope this helps.
